On 4th September 2026, Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Port Mout, celebrated the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami with great enthusiasm and devotion on the school premises.
The programme began with various cultural activities. The students from BV-I to Class II participated enthusiastically in a Krishna-Radha Get-up , dressed beautifully as Lord Krishna and Radha. A cultural programme, including melodious songs, was also presented by the students.
The importance and significance of Janmashtami were highlighted by the teachers through anchoring and narration during the programme. The celebration helped the students understand the cultural and spiritual significance of Lord Krishna's birth.
Prizes were also distributed to the students who participated in various competitions, such as Flute Decoration, Crown Making, Jhula Decoration,Rakhi making, and Conch Blowing. Some parents were invited to serve as judges for the competitions, adding to the enthusiasm and active involvement of the school community.
A total no.of 102 participants along with 110 parents, 35 teaching and 07 Non- teaching staff were part of the celebration.
At the end of the programme, Prasad was distributed among the students and parents.
Overall, the Janmashtami celebration was a colourful, joyful, and memorable event. The programme was well organised and was thoroughly enjoyed by the students, teachers, and parents alike.
