 Mock Drill  – July 2026


Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Port Mout


An earthquake mock drill was conducted on 21st July 2026 at Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Port Mout, to enhance earthquake preparedness and safety awareness among students and staff.




The programme began at 2:00 p.m. with an awareness session on earthquake safety measures, highlighting the importance of the "Drop, Cover, and Hold" technique. 





Students were informed about the correct response during an earthquake and the need to remain calm during emergencies.


Following the awareness session, the mock drill was carried out in a systematic manner.


 On hearing the emergency signal, students practiced the "Drop, Cover, and Hold" technique inside their classrooms and then evacuated the building through the designated routes under the guidance of their teachers. 



They assembled safely at the designated assembly point, where attendance was verified.







The drill was conducted under the supervision of the Teacher-in-Charge with the active support of all teachers and staff. 





A total of 748 students, along with 34 teachers, participated in the exercise. The drill successfully reinforced emergency preparedness and emphasized the importance of regular mock drills in ensuring a safe and secure school environment.

124th Mahasamadhi Diwas



 Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Port Mout

The 124th Mahasamadhi Diwas of Swami Vivekananda was solemnly observed to pay heartfelt tribute to the great spiritual leader, philosopher, and nation-builder. The programme was organized to commemorate his enduring legacy and to reflect upon his timeless ideals of selfless service, character-building, and nation-building. The occasion served as a source of inspiration for all present, encouraging them to imbibe his teachings and uphold the values of discipline, dedication, compassion, and patriotism in their daily lives.




The programme commenced with the morning assembly at 8:15 a.m., which was gracefully anchored by Smt. Aarti Das, one of the teachers of the Vidyalaya. The Principal, Smt. B. Latha, offered floral tributes to the portrait of Swami Vivekananda as a mark of reverence and respect.








Thereafter, Divakar Saha, a teacher of the Vidyalaya, addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of Mahasamadhi Diwas. In his speech, he spoke about the life, teachings, and ideals of Swami Vivekananda and inspired the students to follow the path of truth, discipline, self-confidence, and selfless service to society.




Following the speech, all the teachers of the Vidyalaya paid their floral tributes to the portrait of Swami Vivekananda, expressing their heartfelt respect and gratitude for his invaluable contribution to humanity and the nation.
