Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Port Mout

An earthquake mock drill was conducted on 21st July 2026 at Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Port Mout, to enhance earthquake preparedness and safety awareness among students and staff.

The programme began at 2:00 p.m. with an awareness session on earthquake safety measures, highlighting the importance of the "Drop, Cover, and Hold" technique.

Students were informed about the correct response during an earthquake and the need to remain calm during emergencies.

Following the awareness session, the mock drill was carried out in a systematic manner.

On hearing the emergency signal, students practiced the "Drop, Cover, and Hold" technique inside their classrooms and then evacuated the building through the designated routes under the guidance of their teachers.

They assembled safely at the designated assembly point, where attendance was verified.

The drill was conducted under the supervision of the Teacher-in-Charge with the active support of all teachers and staff.

A total of 748 students, along with 34 teachers, participated in the exercise. The drill successfully reinforced emergency preparedness and emphasized the importance of regular mock drills in ensuring a safe and secure school environment.
