 Teachers' Day Celebration




Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Port Mout, celebrated Teachers’ Day on 5th September 2026 with great enthusiasm and joy. The day marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a renowned philosopher, scholar, teacher and the second President of India. The celebration was organized to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of teachers and to provide students with an opportunity to experience the responsibilities and duties of their mentors.

The celebration began with the morning assembly, which was conducted in a unique and interesting manner. On this special occasion, the students took over the responsibilities of the teachers and managed the various activities of the school. Nitin Mondal of Class XII took on the role of the Principal for the day, while other students assumed the role of teachers and were allotted different classes.

 They enthusiastically carried out their responsibilities, giving them a glimpse into the dedication, patience and commitment required in the teaching profession.


The Principal of the school, Smti.  B. Latha, also addressed the gathering. In her speech, she appreciated the efforts of the students and encouraged them to understand and value the important role played by teachers in shaping their lives. She motivated the students to continue learning with sincerity, discipline and determination.



The teachers then paid a floral tribute to the portrait of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan as a mark of respect and remembrance. The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and reverence as everyone reflected upon his contributions to education and the nation.




In the afternoon, a colourful cultural programme was organized by the students of Class XII. The programme began with a warm welcome address by the Head Girl, Sneha Joydhar of Class XII-B, who welcomed all the teachers and expressed the students’ love and gratitude towards them. This was followed by a variety of entertaining performances presented by the students. The programme included songs, dances and other cultural presentations that created a lively and cheerful atmosphere.


The students had also arranged fun games and entertaining activities for the teachers, which added a special touch to the celebration. The teachers enthusiastically participated in the games and enjoyed the moments of fun and relaxation with their students.



At the conclusion of the programme, the Head Boy, Akhil Ram of Class XII-A, delivered the vote of thanks. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Principal, teachers, non-teaching staff and all the students whose efforts made the celebration successful and memorable.






On behalf of all the teachers, Kavita Ma’am, one of the teachers of the Vidyalaya, expressed her gratitude to the students. She thanked them for the love, respect and affection they had shown towards their teachers and appreciated their thoughtful efforts in organizing such a wonderful celebration.




Overall, the celebration was a joyful, memorable and heartwarming experience for everyone. It provided the students with an opportunity to understand the responsibilities of teachers while also strengthening the bond of love and respect between teachers and students.



A total of 544  students, 34 teaching staff members and 6 non-teaching staff members were present on the occasion. The celebration concluded on a happy note, leaving everyone with cherished memories of a wonderful Teachers’ Day.
