On 19th November 2025, Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Port Mout celebrated the Art, Science, Technology & Handicraft Research Activities Exhibition (ASTHRA) 2025 in connection with Sadhana Diwas the birth anniversary of Eknath Ranade ji with great enthusiasm and vibrancy in the school premises.
The
programme commenced with a graceful inauguration by the esteemed Chief Guest,
Shri Prakash
Adhikari, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, and Shri S.
Bhuminathan, Up-Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, who was accompanied by
several distinguished members of the Zilla Parishad, dignitaries from
neighbouring schools, and officials from various departments.
The
Principal of the Vidyalaya extended a warm and heartfelt welcome to the
gathering adding the golden words of Eknath Ranade ji- "A nation is built
when character is built when there is a harmonious blending of head, heart and
hand "setting a dignified tone for the event.
This
was followed by an enlightening and inspiring speech by Shri Kushal Biswas, who
spoke on the remarkable life, ideals, and contributions of Eknath Ranade ji in
observance of Sadhana Diwas.
A
group song by the students of class Xth & XIth was presented. The chief guest addressed the
gathering with his inspiring words.
A
Memento was presented to the Chief guest, special guest and the judges. The
Vote of Thanks was eloquently delivered by Smt. Nisha Yadav.
Soon
after the formal ceremony, the guests proceeded to explore the exhibits, where
students proudly presented their thoughtfully crafted models. Teachers from
different departments served as judges, evaluating the exhibits that were
meticulously arranged subject-wise and theme-wise.
The
models centred around the achievements of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands as
well as the pressing challenges faced by the region, along with innovative
solutions proposed by the students.
Each
classroom was aesthetically decorated in harmony with the assigned themes,
transforming the school into a vibrant hub of creativity and intellectual
expression.
A
total of 59 models were showcased, each reflecting the dedication, imagination,
and tireless efforts of the students. The exhibition flourished under the
valuable guidance and support of Susri Varsha Didi, Secretary of VKVs Andamans,
and Shri Venugopal, Education Officer, VKVs Andamans. Parents and visitors
arrived in good numbers, exploring the exhibits with keen interest and
appreciation, adding warmth and liveliness to the event.
The
programme concluded successfully with the active participation of 764 students,
300 parents, 35 teaching and 07 non-teaching staff, leaving behind a memorable
celebration of learning, creativity, and collective achievement.
At
last, "Swadhyay "was conducted amongst the teachers in connection
with Sadhana Diwas.
