Bird Festival of Andaman & Nicobar Islands
A Guided Ecological Walk was organised by the South Andaman Forest Division at Ograbraj Wetland on 31 January 2026 to mark the 1st Bird Festival of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Thirty students from Classes VI to VIII, accompanied by Ms. M. Neha Kumari and Ms. Rethika Ram, participated enthusiastically. The programme included a guided wetland walk, bird observation with binoculars, and awareness sessions on wetlands, mangroves, biodiversity, and bird identification. A “Feed the Birds Station” activity encouraged students to make seed feeders using recycled bottles, promoting conservation and sustainable practices. The programme was informative, engaging, and helped develop environmental awareness and responsibility among students.
