 Bhajan Sandhya at VKZPV Port Mout

On the auspicious evening of 29th July, Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Port Mout organized a Bhajan Sandhya in the school premises, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere filled with devotion and unity. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, parents, and teachers, all gathered to immerse themselves in the divine vibrations of devotional music.

The evening commenced with the chanting of Shanti Paat, followed by Ekya Mantra, setting a serene and sacred tone. The devotional segment began with a soulful bhajan dedicated to Lord Ganesha, sung beautifully by a student of the Vidyalaya. This was followed by devotional songs in praise of Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna, Devi, and the recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa, each performed with heartfelt devotion and energy.

The Bhajan Sandhya turned into a spiritually enriching experience where children and parents came together with love and reverence. One of the most memorable aspects of the evening was the enthusiastic participation of the students, who’s singing deeply touched everyone present.

In total, the event saw the participation of 31 teachers and 05 non-teaching staff 30 parents, and 67 children, creating a vibrant and spiritually charged environment. The evening concluded with Sandhya Aarti and Prasad distribution, leaving everyone with a sense of peace and divine joy

The Bhajan Sandhya proved to be a spiritually enriching experience, bringing children, parents and teachers together in a celebration of faith and unity.

 Kendra Varga Organised by VKZPV Port Mout at School Premises

On 26th July 2025,  Kendra Varga was conducted at VKZPV Port Mout.

The session began at 12:00 PM with three Omkaras, followed by the Shantipath and Karmayoga shloka led by Smti. B.Latha . Agyaa Abhyas like Nishchalo bhava and Susthito bhava were  performed followed by  Yoga Abhyas like Vrikshasana and Tadasana for the wellness of mind and body led by Shri. Kushal Biswas.

Engaging games like Ek Sawaal Do Jawab and Akash Dharti Pataal conducted by Smti.Arati Das , brought fun and excitement to the session. A patriotic song 'Desh hi pukarta tu so raha Jawan hai' sung by one of teachers Shri. Kushal Biswas followed by a Charcha on ' The impact of mobile phones on children's lives '.

Altogether 10 parents and 06 teachers actively participated in the event. Lastly the programme concluded with Avlokan  by Miss. Sujata Biswas followed by Shanti Mantra.



 Amrut Parivaar Organised by VKZPV Port Mout at School Premises

On 26th July 2025, the school premises came alive with the vibrant celebration of "Amrut Parivaar" , a cultural event dedicated to honouring Indian family values, unity, and tradition. The event brought together students, parents, and teachers through the joyful expression of language, attire, and traditional cuisine.

The program began with a flower offering to “Om” by the HOI, teachers, parents, and children, signifying purity, peace, and togetherness. This was followed by the recitation of the “Ekyamantra”, which filled the atmosphere with a sense of spiritual unity. After this, the Head of Institution warmly welcomed the gathering, appreciating the presence and participation of the families, and highlighting the importance of preserving our cultural roots.

The celebration continued with the patriotic group song “Nirmanon ke Pavan Yug Mein”, performed by teachers, parents, and students, spreading a strong message of unity and nation-building. After the song, one of our teachers, Smt. Menoka Paik, highlighted the significance of 'Amrut Parivaar'. She spoke about how the concept reflects the timeless Indian ideals of an ideal family — one that nurtures love, respect, and shared responsibility among its members. She emphasized that the strength of our society lies in strong families, where cultural, moral, and emotional values are rooted and sustained from an early age.

Six families participated in the event, wearing traditional attire representing different regions such as Kerala, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Nicobari Tribe, and West Bengal, showcasing their regional identities. A memorable part of the event was when children brought homemade traditional dishes and explained their names, ingredients, and cultural relevance in their own mother tongue, fostering a deep connection between food and language.

Following the food display, a fun game session was held in which parents, teachers, and children participated actively, led by one of the teachers, Smt. P. Kavitha, adding laughter, teamwork, and excitement to the day. The entire program commenced with Miss R. Simran. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Debashish, who appreciated the efforts of all participants, families, and staff members for making the program a grand success.

Parents expressed their appreciation for this thoughtful initiative, sharing that the event gave them an opportunity to connect deeply with the school and its culture. They expressed willingness to support and contribute to such programs in the future. The “Amrut Parivaar” celebration left behind a strong message of togetherness, cultural pride, and the importance of family in shaping a harmonious society. The event concluded on a high note, with everyone looking forward to the next culture extravaganza.







 Sanskaar Varga organised by VKZPV Port Mout at School Premises

On 25th July 2025, the Sanskaar Varga conducted by the students with the enthusiastic participation of 56 students from Class VII A & B. The session began at 1:35 PM with three Omkaras, followed by the Shantipath and Karmayoga shloka, setting a positive tone for the event.

The yoga session that followed included Ardha Kati Chakrasana, Padahastasana, and Ardha Chakrasana, promoting discipline, balance, and self-awareness. Students then practiced three agyas — Nishchalo Bhava, Susthito Bhava, and Swastho Bhava, further enhancing their mental and physical well-being.

Engaging games like Namastey Ji and Akash Dharti Pataal brought fun and excitement to the session, while the geet "Chale Nirantar" added a creative element. A storytelling session featuring the unsung hero  "Tiruppur Kumaran", shared by student Ainesh Tutty, inspired the students.

The session concluded with students expressing their thoughts and reflections.The Sanskaar Varga was a resounding success, providing students with a unique opportunity to develop their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. The event promoted discipline, self-awareness, and teamwork among the students, making it a valuable experience for all participants.


 

Rope Skipping Demonstration

On 24th July 2025, the Directorate of Education organized a Rope Skipping Demonstration under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme at Marina Park Road, with the aim of promoting health and well-being among girls. The event emphasized how skipping can empower girls to take charge of their physical and mental health, fostering overall fitness and confidence.

Girls from all government and private schools under the Sri Vijaya Puram Headquarters area enthusiastically participated in the event. A total of 850 girls took part in the demonstration.

From our Vidyalaya, 10 students from Classes V to VIII participated in the event. They were accompanied and guided by the Physical Education Teacher (PET).

The event was a great success, inspiring young girls to engage in regular physical activity and highlighting the importance of fitness for empowerment.

 

Mallakhamb Camp by Chinmaya Mission

A two day Mallakhamb Camp was organised by Chinmaya Mission on 22 and 23 of July 2025. Mallakhamb is a traditional Indian sport that blends gymnastics, yoga, and strength training on a wooden pole or rope. It enhances physical fitness, mental focus, and flexibility. Rooted in ancient martial arts, it reflects India’s rich cultural heritage.

Shri. Uday Vishwanath Deshpande, Deputy Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise was the mentor for this two-day Camp. Initially, he  instructed the students to perform some warm up exercises to prepare the body for physical activity, then they were taught various poses, postures and technique on a vertical wooden pole or hanging rope, emphasizing strength and flexibility. Some games were also conducted to promote overall physical fitness. Altogether 10 students of classes VI to VIII participated actively from our vidyalaya. They were escorted by PET.

This Mallakhamb camp was a success, providing participants with a unique opportunity to learn a traditional Indian sport.


 Awareness on Dolphin Conservation

On 08th  July 2025, our Vidyalaya observed Dolphin Conservation Awareness Day.

Dolphin Conservation Awareness is essential to protect these intelligent and graceful marine animals, which play a vital role in maintaining the balance of ocean ecosystems. By spreading awareness, reducing plastic use, supporting sustainable fishing, and opposing captivity, we can help ensure a safe and healthy future for dolphins and our oceans. Protecting dolphins means protecting the health of our planet.

Initially, a pledge was taken by Miss. R. Simran, highlighting the importance of this day.

In connection with Dolphin Conservation Awareness day a painting competition was conducted on 22 July 2025 for the students of classes VI to VIII in which  10 students actively participated.

A short video was also shown to the students of classes XI and XII.


 


On 18 July 2025, INS Karmuk, Indian Navy Naval Base Haddo, organized an interactive session with students in our vidyalaya. Lt. Commander Manish Chavan R and Lt. Varun D spoke about the various entry schemes available to join the Indian Armed Forces. The session covered multiple entry points for students who aspire to serve in the Army, Navy or Air Force. The eligibility criteria and selection process for each entry scheme were discussed in detail. Students were informed about the age limits, educational qualification, and physical requirements for each scheme.

This session provided students with a comprehensive overview of the various entry schemes available to join the Indian Armed Forces. Students were encouraged to explore these opportunities and pursue a career in the defence forces.

Altogether 74 students and 04 teachers were present.


 

Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam

On 15th  July 2025, Forest Department, Manglutan Range, organised the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign in our vidyalaya with the heartfelt intention of honouring mothers by planting trees in their name. Forest Department staff along with 200 students, 20 parents and 6 teachers planted saplings as a tribute to the unconditional love, care, and sacrifices of mothers. This symbolic act served not only to express gratitude but also to raise awareness about environmental conservation.

Report on visit of Aadarniya Vishwas Lapalkar Ji at VKZPV Port Mout

On 11th July 2025, Aadarniya Vishwas Lapalkar Ji, Paschim Bengal Pranth Sangathak, VK Kanyakumari visited our vidyalaya, VKZPV Port Mout. He arrived sharply at 1:20pm  and was whole heartedly welcomed by the Principal Smti. Sabita Devi and other staff members. He interacted with the students of classes X and XII and shared his words of wisdom encouraging them to explore their potential and take initiative and grow into responsible individual. Altogether 60 students were present.

He also held a discussion with the  teachers of classes X and XII and emphasized the importance of team work and inter-personal relationships. Teachers as a mentor can inspire, support, and walk beside students through their journey of growth and learning. A staff meeting was also arranged in which Vishwas Ji interacted with the new teachers and held a brief discussion on achieving our goals.

Altogether 31 teachers were present.

The programme concluded with Shanti Mantra at 3:30pm.





 

Inaugural Ceremony of Class XI Arts Stream at VKZPV, Port Mout

The Inaugural Ceremony of Class XI Arts Stream was held on 10 July 2025 at VKZPV Port Mout,with great enthusiasm and participation. The program commenced with a warm welcome extended to the Chief Guest , Shri. Prakash Adhikari , Adhyaksh Zilla Parishad South Andaman, Shri. B. Bhoominathan, Up-Adhyaksh Zilla Parishad South Andaman , along with other dignitaries, staff, and students.

The inauguration of new Arts stream in a school is a significant event that marks a new chapter in the school's history.

The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the removal of darkness and the ushering of knowledge and wisdom. This was followed by a welcome address delivered by the Principal Smti. Sabita Devi , who expressed gratitude to all present and set the tone for the day's proceedings.

The Chief Guest performed  a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony to officially open the new classroom for Class XI Arts with 24 students.

The Chief Guest delivered an inspiring speech, motivating the students to strive for excellence and make the most of the opportunities provided to them. He emphasized the importance of discipline, hard work, and innovation in achieving success.

Various cultural performances added the vibrancy to the event, showcasing the talent and enthusiasm of the students. A brief presentation about the objectives and schedule of the program was also given by the Principal.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Smti. B. Latha .

Guru Purnima Celebration at VKZPV Port Mout

On 10th July 2025, at around 9am Guru Purnima was celebrated at VKZPV Port Mout. Guru Purnima is a significant festival dedicated to honour the teachers and mentors. It's a day for disciples to express gratitude and reverence for those who guide them on their spiritual and intellectual journeys.

On this special day Shri. Prakash Adhikari , Adhyaksh Zilla Parishad South Andaman was the Chief Guest and Shri. B. Bhoominathan , Up-Adhyaksh  Zilla Parishad South Andaman was the Special Guest with other dignitaries. The program began with lighting the lamp by the Chief Guest and other guests followed by Ekya Mantra.The Principal Smti. Sabita Devi addressed the gathering and appreciated the students for their excellence in the examination. A  student of class XI, Payal Kirtania delivered a speech on Guru Purnima, followed by a patriotic song on guru, sung by students of classes IX and X.

Futher, Smti. Menoka Paik one of the teachers highlighted the significance and key aspects of Guru Purnima in her speech.

The students of classes X and XII were felicitated with trophies and certificates by the Chief Guest and other Guests for their outstanding performance in the academic session of 2024-25 of CBSE Board Exam. A total of 6 toppers from classes X and XII, and 8 subject toppers were honoured for their academic excellence along with their parents. The Chief Guest motivated the students by sharing inspirational words and encouraged them to pursue their dreams with dedication and confidence.

Altogether 100 students, 13 parents and 05 teachers were present.

 

The program was anchored by Smti. P. Kavitha (Teacher ) and the vote of thanks was proposed by Smti. B. Latha (Teacher).

The programme concluded with Shanti Mantra.

On the same day, our school organised Swadhyay for teachers and had a small discussion on Guru Purnima. Altogether 32 teachers participated.

Swami Vivekananda's Samadhi Diwas On 4th July 2025

On 4th July 2025, Swami Vivekananda's Samadhi day was observed in the school premises. Swami Vivekananda's Samadhi Diwas, commemorates his passing away in 1902. It's a day to reflect on his profound teachings, his role in introducing Indian philosophy to the West, and his enduring impact on nationalism and youth empowerment. It's a time to remember his message of service to humanity and his vision for a strong, spiritual India. 

The day started with morning assembly. Smti. P. Kavitha highlighted the importance of this day. The Principal Smti. Sabita Devi paid floral tribute to the portrait of Swami Vivekananda along with the  teachers and students.

Altogether 701 students and 31 teachers were present.
