The Annual Day
Celebration of Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Port Mout,
commemorated alongside the Birth Anniversary of the great visionary and
spiritual luminary, Swami Vivekananda, was observed with profound enthusiasm,
devotion, and cultural splendor on 12th January 2026 at 9am.
The auspicious
programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising
wisdom and enlightenment, by the Chief Guest, Shri Prakash Adhikari, Adhyaksh,
Zilla Parishad South Andaman, and the Guest of Honour, Smti. Pramila Kumari,
Zilla Parishad Member, Chouldari Constituency.
The gathering was
warmly welcomed by the Principal, Smti. Sabita Devi, who delivered the welcome
address and presented the Annual Report. In her address, she eloquently
highlighted the academic accomplishments, co-curricular achievements, and
holistic development of the Vidyalaya during the academic year, inspiring the
audience with her thoughtful reflections.
The Prize Distribution
Ceremony was graciously conducted by the Guest of Honour. Following this, the
Chief Guest, Shri Prakash Adhikari, distributed prizes to the meritorious
students and addressed the gathering with his insightful and inspiring words,
urging students to imbibe the ideals and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. A
memento was presented to the Chief Guest
and Guest of Honour as a token of gratitude and respect.
The cultural
extravaganza unfolded with a serene invocation dance, invoking divine
blessings, followed by an energetic welcome dance performed by the girls of
Classes VI to VIII. A thought-provoking student speech added intellectual depth
to the programme by Sneha Joydhar of class XI The audience was mesmerised by
the delightful group dance presented by the tiny tots of Balvatika.
A powerful Hindi skit
depicting the life, philosophy, and teachings of Swami Vivekananda was
beautifully enacted, leaving an indelible impression on the audience. The
ambience was further enriched by the chanting of the Swadesh Mantra by Ansh
Kumar of Class VIII evoking a strong sense of patriotism. This was followed by
a lively action dance performed by the boys of Classes III to V.
Adding further
significance to the event, R. Simran, a teacher of the Vidyalaya, delivered an
enlightening speech emphasizing the relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s ideals in
contemporary society. A vibrant group dance by students of Classes I to V
enthralled the audience. The programme continued with the soulful rendition of
“Aarti Bharat Mata Ki”, followed by Bhuvan Mandale. The cultural performances culminated
with a captivating dance presentation by students of Classes IX and XI.
The programme concluded
with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Smti. P. Kavitha, a teacher of the
vidyalaya acknowledging the dignitaries, parents, staff, and students for their
invaluable support and cooperation. The celebration drew to a dignified close
with the singing of the National Anthem, instilling a deep sense of patriotism
among all present.
The event was graced by
the presence of 757 students, 415 parents, 34 teaching staff, and 08
non-teaching staff, making the celebration a resounding success and a memorable
occasion for the entire school fraternity.
