 Earthquake Mock Drill

On 19th December 2025, a comprehensive Disaster (Evacuation Safety) Mock Drill was conducted by the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBN) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) at Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad School. The programme was organized with the objective of creating awareness and enhancing preparedness among students and staff to respond effectively during emergency situations.

The mock drill commenced with a detailed briefing by the Head of the IRBN team, who explained the importance of timely evacuation and systematic response during disasters. He demonstrated various evacuation and rescue techniques, including the fireman lift, two-man rescue method, and the four-hand carrying technique. These demonstrations were further reinforced by the NDRF personnel, whose practical display of rescue operations helped students gain a clear understanding of professional disaster management procedures.

Following the demonstrations, the evacuation mock drill was carried out in a realistic and well-coordinated manner. Students actively participated and followed instructions with discipline and alertness. The school’s first aid team students efficiently performed their assigned roles by assisting in the safe evacuation of students from classrooms and administering immediate first aid wherever required, showcasing commendable teamwork and responsibility.



The mock drill was conducted smoothly and concluded successfully. It proved to be highly informative and educational, as students were made aware of the essential do’s and don’ts during emergencies, particularly in situations such as natural disasters, mishaps, and earthquakes. The programme significantly contributed to building confidence, awareness, and readiness among students, ensuring they are better equipped to face unforeseen emergencies in the future.

The Inauguration of Veer Savarkar Statue 

On 12th December 2025, the students of Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Port Mout were honored with a rare and proud opportunity to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the Veer Savarkar Statue at Beodnabad South Andaman

The prestigious event was graced by eminent national leaders including Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Ji and Shri Amit Shah Ji, Hon’ble Union Home Minister of India, along with several distinguished delegates and respected members of the Zilla Parishad. Their presence added great significance to the occasion.

A special highlight of the event was the interaction of three students from the Vidyalaya — Ekta Mridha, Pushkarni, and Tanushka Rathore of Class VIII — who had the privilege of meeting and interacting with the dignitaries. This inspiring experience left a lasting impression on the students and motivated them to contribute positively to the nation.

The entire programme was filled with enthusiasm, pride, and patriotic spirit. It was truly a memorable and proud moment for the students, teachers, and the institution.

 Felicitation Ceremony

On 8th December 2025, Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Port Mout organized a special felicitation ceremony to honour the students who secured prizes at various levels in the Arts & Science Exhibition (ASTHRA) 2025. The event highlighted the creative and scientific talents of the participants, who had put in dedicated effort to excel in their respective categories.

During the programme, the guide teachers proudly presented the prizes to the winners, appreciating their hard work, innovative ideas, and commitment toward excellence. Their guidance and encouragement played a key role in shaping the students’ achievements.


The ceremony concluded with applause and appreciation, marking a memorable moment of pride and joy for the students, teachers, and the entire school community.

 Chhote Scientist Programme 

Resource Person : Shri Tushar Juvekar, Head of Chhote Scientist, KPIT, Pune Maharashtra  



On 04th December 2025, VKZPV Port Mout had the privilege of welcoming Shri Tushar Juvekar, Head of the Chhote Scientists programme KPIT, Pune, Maharashtra. 

The guests first attended the morning assembly, where he was formally introduced to the school community by Ms. Anuradha Sharma. A brief overview of their work and the purpose of their visit was also shared with the students and staff.

Following the assembly, an interactive session with the science teachers was conducted in the Mini Hall. During this session, Shri Juvekar highlighted the objectives and methodology of the Chhote Scientists initiative and discussed strategies to enhance scientific curiosity among students.

A booklet on questioning skills and activity-based learning was also shared, offering valuable insights into promoting inquiry and critical thinking in classroom teaching.

The session was attended by students of Classes VI to VIII, who actively participated and benefited from the activities and demonstrations.In total, 207 students, 08 teachers from VKZPV Port Mout and 02 teachers from ZPVKV, Ferrargunj were present for the programme.





In the concluding session, Shri. Tushar Juvekar enlightened the students and teachers with the importance and main objectives of Chhote scientist program and encouraged the teachers to conduct such activities frequently and motivated the students to show active participation. He also   expressed his satisfaction about the activites conducted by the teachers throughout the year by reviewing the chhote Scientists record. 

Vote of Thanks delivered by HOI, VKZPV Port Mout and expressed her gratitude and Sincerely thanked his presence. 

The visit proved to be highly enriching and inspiring, providing new perspectives on hands-on science education and inquiry-based pedagogy for both students and teachers.

 Visit of Mananeeya Bhanudas Ji (All India General Secretary, Vivekananda Kendra)



On 1st December 2025, Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Port Mout, had the honour of welcoming Mananeeya Bhanudas Ji, All India General Secretary of Vivekananda Kendra. He was accompanied by Susri Varsha Bhujone, Secretary of VKVs Andaman, and Shri Venugopal, Education Officer of VKVs Andaman. Their visit brought profound inspiration to the entire school community.


The day began with the morning assembly, which the esteemed dignitaries attended. The assembly was conducted in a disciplined and graceful manner, and the students chanted the Karma Yoga Shloka, leading and following it with devotion, clarity, and sincerity. After the assembly, the dignitaries participated in the Gita Jayanti celebration organized in the school, where the significance of the Bhagavad Gita was highlighted through devotional performances and activities.



Following this, Mananeeya Bhanudas Ji interacted with the students of the Vidyalaya and offered his blessings. He guided them on how they should prepare for their upcoming examinations and motivated them to study with focus, confidence, and sincerity. His interaction was extremely fruitful and engaging, and the students felt deeply encouraged by his inspiring words and personal experiences.


After the student interaction, the teachers of BV-I to Class II presented the academic performance of their classes, along with details of flagship activities, Gruha Sampark, and other initiatives undertaken for the overall development of the students. The dignitaries appreciated their systematic efforts, commitment, and dedication. Soon after, a Community Lunch was organized, providing an opportunity for teachers and dignitaries to interact informally and share experiences in a spirit of harmony and togetherness.



Post lunch, the teachers of Classes III to XII made a detailed presentation, explaining their class-wise academic performance, flagship activities such as Spoken English, Gruha Sampark reports, and the implementation of the Holistic Progress Card (HPC). The presentations reflected the dedication of the teachers towards ensuring academic excellence as well as the holistic growth of every child.



Towards the end of the program, Mananeeya Bhanudas Ji shared his valuable insights with the teachers. He also advised the teachers to go through page no. 12 of the book "Eknathji" and pages 349 & 350 of the book "Spiritualizing Life", highlighting that the values learned from these readings should be included in school activities and also conveyed to students during the morning assembly. He emphasized that students and parents place immense trust in teachers, and it is the teacher’s responsibility to honour, nurture, and uphold that trust. He urged teachers to make children genuinely interested in their subjects by motivating and engaging them meaningfully. He also reminded everyone that Swami Vivekananda should remain at the centre of every activity conducted in the school, as his ideals provide the true direction and purpose of education.

He encouraged teachers to cultivate regular reading habits and to practice Swadhyay and Prawachan, as these are essential for personal and professional growth. Finally, he reminded teachers to take care of every child with sincerity, affection, and commitment, as a teacher plays a crucial and transformative role in a student’s life. The meeting concluded with Kendra Prarthana.




The visit of Mananeeya Bhanudas Ji was deeply inspiring and left a lasting impact on both teachers and students, motivating everyone to work with renewed dedication in the spirit of Vivekananda Kendra.
