Raksha Bandhan Celebration

Raksha Bandhan, fondly known as Rakhi, is a revered Hindu festival that honors the timeless bond of love, trust, and protection shared between brothers and sisters. The term "Raksha Bandhan" originates from Sanskrit, where "Raksha" means protection and "Bandhan" signifies a bond or tie, symbolizing a pledge of care and mutual support.

On 9th August 2025, Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Port Mout, celebrated this auspicious occasion with immense enthusiasm and cultural fervor. The school premises were filled with a festive spirit as students and staff gathered to commemorate the values and traditions associated with Raksha Bandhan.

The program began with an introduction to the significance of the festival. Teachers shared insights into its historical and cultural relevance, helping students understand the deeper meaning behind the rituals. The students listened attentively and expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to engage in such a meaningful celebration.

As part of the outreach initiative, a group of teachers and students visited nearby institutions including IRBN Port Mout,Police Station Ograbraj, Primary Health Centre Chouldari,Primary Health Centre Tushnabad, Veterinary Hospital Port Mout and Maket area of Tushnabad, Chouldari & Port Mout .They tied rakhis to the staff and personnel, spreading warmth, goodwill, and a message of unity beyond the school walls. This thoughtful gesture was well-received and fostered a spirit of community engagement and gratitude.

In the days leading up to the celebration, a Rakhi Making Competition was held on 5th August 2025 for students of Classes VI to XII. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students displaying remarkable creativity and craftsmanship. Colorful and imaginative rakhis made by the students were appreciated by all and added a personal touch to the festival.

The event concluded on a joyful note, with heartfelt interactions and shared smiles among students, teachers, and community members. A total of 416 students, along with 33 teaching 5 non-teaching staff members, took part in the celebration, making it a truly memorable and successful occasion.

 Student Parliament/Senate

The Student Parliament for the academic session 2025–26 was successfully organized on 4th August 2025 within the school premises. The event commenced with enthusiastic anchoring by Smti. Kirti Tiwari, setting a lively tone for the ceremony.

A total of 20 students were selected to be part of the Student Parliament Committee, along with a dedicated team of volunteers. The occasion was graced by the Principal, Smti. Sabita Devi, who, along with the House Masters and House Teachers, formally badged the elected members in a ceremonial investiture.

The highlight of the event was the announcement of the School Captains. Ishaan Singh and K. Varsha, both from Class 12, were proudly selected as the School Captains for the session 2025–26, earning loud applause and encouragement from students and teachers alike.

To conclude the event, a spirited March Past was conducted by all the elected members, house teachers, and house masters. The ceremony reflected unity, discipline, and enthusiasm, marking a proud moment for the school community.
