Raksha Bandhan Celebration

Raksha Bandhan, fondly known as Rakhi, is a revered Hindu festival that honors the timeless bond of love, trust, and protection shared between brothers and sisters. The term "Raksha Bandhan" originates from Sanskrit, where "Raksha" means protection and "Bandhan" signifies a bond or tie, symbolizing a pledge of care and mutual support.

On 9th August 2025, Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Port Mout, celebrated this auspicious occasion with immense enthusiasm and cultural fervor. The school premises were filled with a festive spirit as students and staff gathered to commemorate the values and traditions associated with Raksha Bandhan.

The program began with an introduction to the significance of the festival. Teachers shared insights into its historical and cultural relevance, helping students understand the deeper meaning behind the rituals. The students listened attentively and expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to engage in such a meaningful celebration.

As part of the outreach initiative, a group of teachers and students visited nearby institutions including IRBN Port Mout,Police Station Ograbraj, Primary Health Centre Chouldari,Primary Health Centre Tushnabad, Veterinary Hospital Port Mout and Maket area of Tushnabad, Chouldari & Port Mout .They tied rakhis to the staff and personnel, spreading warmth, goodwill, and a message of unity beyond the school walls. This thoughtful gesture was well-received and fostered a spirit of community engagement and gratitude.

In the days leading up to the celebration, a Rakhi Making Competition was held on 5th August 2025 for students of Classes VI to XII. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students displaying remarkable creativity and craftsmanship. Colorful and imaginative rakhis made by the students were appreciated by all and added a personal touch to the festival.

The event concluded on a joyful note, with heartfelt interactions and shared smiles among students, teachers, and community members. A total of 416 students, along with 33 teaching 5 non-teaching staff members, took part in the celebration, making it a truly memorable and successful occasion.

 Student Parliament/Senate

The Student Parliament for the academic session 2025–26 was successfully organized on 4th August 2025 within the school premises. The event commenced with enthusiastic anchoring by Smti. Kirti Tiwari, setting a lively tone for the ceremony.

A total of 20 students were selected to be part of the Student Parliament Committee, along with a dedicated team of volunteers. The occasion was graced by the Principal, Smti. Sabita Devi, who, along with the House Masters and House Teachers, formally badged the elected members in a ceremonial investiture.

The highlight of the event was the announcement of the School Captains. Ishaan Singh and K. Varsha, both from Class 12, were proudly selected as the School Captains for the session 2025–26, earning loud applause and encouragement from students and teachers alike.

To conclude the event, a spirited March Past was conducted by all the elected members, house teachers, and house masters. The ceremony reflected unity, discipline, and enthusiasm, marking a proud moment for the school community.

 Bhajan Sandhya at VKZPV Port Mout

On the auspicious evening of 29th July, Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Port Mout organized a Bhajan Sandhya in the school premises, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere filled with devotion and unity. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, parents, and teachers, all gathered to immerse themselves in the divine vibrations of devotional music.
The evening commenced with the chanting of Shanti Paat, followed by Ekya Mantra, setting a serene and sacred tone. The devotional segment began with a soulful bhajan dedicated to Lord Ganesha, sung beautifully by a student of the Vidyalaya. This was followed by devotional songs in praise of Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna, Devi, and the recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa, each performed with heartfelt devotion and energy.
The Bhajan Sandhya turned into a spiritually enriching experience where children and parents came together with love and reverence. One of the most memorable aspects of the evening was the enthusiastic participation of the students, who’s singing deeply touched everyone present.
In total, the event saw the participation of 31 teachers and 05 non-teaching staff 30 parents, and 67 children, creating a vibrant and spiritually charged environment. The evening concluded with Sandhya Aarti and Prasad distribution, leaving everyone with a sense of peace and divine joy
The Bhajan Sandhya proved to be a spiritually enriching experience, bringing children, parents and teachers together in a celebration of faith and unity.

 Kendra Varga Organised by VKZPV Port Mout at School Premises

On 26th July 2025,  Kendra Varga was conducted at VKZPV Port Mout.
The session began at 12:00 PM with three Omkaras, followed by the Shantipath and Karmayoga shloka led by Smti. B.Latha . Agyaa Abhyas like Nishchalo bhava and Susthito bhava were  performed followed by  Yoga Abhyas like Vrikshasana and Tadasana for the wellness of mind and body led by Shri. Kushal Biswas.
Engaging games like Ek Sawaal Do Jawab and Akash Dharti Pataal conducted by Smti.Arati Das , brought fun and excitement to the session. A patriotic song 'Desh hi pukarta tu so raha Jawan hai' sung by one of teachers Shri. Kushal Biswas followed by a Charcha on ' The impact of mobile phones on children's lives '.
Altogether 10 parents and 06 teachers actively participated in the event. Lastly the programme concluded with Avlokan  by Miss. Sujata Biswas followed by Shanti Mantra.



 Amrut Parivaar Organised by VKZPV Port Mout at School Premises

On 26th July 2025, the school premises came alive with the vibrant celebration of "Amrut Parivaar" , a cultural event dedicated to honoring Indian family values, unity, and tradition. The event brought together students, parents, and teachers through the joyful expression of language, attire, and traditional cuisine.
The program began with a flower offering to “Om” by the HOI, teachers, parents, and children, signifying purity, peace, and togetherness. This was followed by the recitation of the “Ekyamantra”, which filled the atmosphere with a sense of spiritual unity. After this, the Head of Institution warmly welcomed the gathering, appreciating the presence and participation of the families, and highlighting the importance of preserving our cultural roots.
The celebration continued with the patriotic group song “Nirmanon ke Pavan Yug Mein”, performed by teachers, parents, and students, spreading a strong message of unity and nation-building. After the song, one of our teachers, Smt. Menoka Paik, highlighted the significance of 'Amrut Parivaar'. She spoke about how the concept reflects the timeless Indian ideals of an ideal family — one that nurtures love, respect, and shared responsibility among its members. She emphasized that the strength of our society lies in strong families, where cultural, moral, and emotional values are rooted and sustained from an early age.
Six families participated in the event, wearing traditional attire representing different regions such as Kerala, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Nicobari Tribe, and West Bengal, showcasing their regional identities. A memorable part of the event was when children brought homemade traditional dishes and explained their names, ingredients, and cultural relevance in their own mother tongue, fostering a deep connection between food and language.
Following the food display, a fun game session was held in which parents, teachers, and children participated actively, led by one of the teachers, Smt. P. Kavitha, adding laughter, teamwork, and excitement to the day. The entire program commenced with Miss R. Simran. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Debashish, who appreciated the efforts of all participants, families, and staff members for making the program a grand success.
Parents expressed their appreciation for this thoughtful initiative, sharing that the event gave them an opportunity to connect deeply with the school and its culture. They expressed willingness to support and contribute to such programs in the future. The “Amrut Parivaar” celebration left behind a strong message of togetherness, cultural pride, and the importance of family in shaping a harmonious society. The event concluded on a high note, with everyone looking forward to the next culture extravaganza.







 Sanskaar Varga organised by VKZPV Port Mout at School Premises

On 25th July 2025, the Sanskaar Varga conducted by the students with the enthusiastic participation of 56 students from Class VII A & B. The session began at 1:35 PM with three Omkaras, followed by the Shantipath and Karmayoga shloka, setting a positive tone for the event.
The yoga session that followed included Ardha Kati Chakrasana, Padahastasana, and Ardha Chakrasana, promoting discipline, balance, and self-awareness. Students then practiced three agyas — Nishchalo Bhava, Susthito Bhava, and Swastho Bhava, further enhancing their mental and physical well-being.
Engaging games like Namastey Ji and Akash Dharti Pataal brought fun and excitement to the session, while the geet "Chale Nirantar" added a creative element. A storytelling session featuring the unsung hero  "Tiruppur Kumaran", shared by student Ainesh Tutty, inspired the students.
The session concluded with students expressing their thoughts and reflections.The Sanskaar Varga was a resounding success, providing students with a unique opportunity to develop their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. The event promoted discipline, self-awareness, and teamwork among the students, making it a valuable experience for all participants.
